INTRODUCTIONThe Yashica Mat-124 G is a Medium Format Twin Lens Reflex camera. It was made in Japan by Yashica between 1970 and 1986. BEST SUITED FOR:
PERSONAL NOTESYears ago, I fell in love with the Yashica-A. And now, the Yashica Mat-124 G has an even better place in my heart. It has a stopping advance, so no red window to look through. It also have a built in light meter. It can use both 120 and 220 film. It's no wonder why I really enjoy this camera. The light meter still works on mine. It is activated when you pop out the viewfinder. There is an advance lever, it feels just like a Rolleiflex, for much cheaper. As with many TLRs, the only drawback for me, is that the focus knob is on the left side. But that's what you get when you have a big and nive advance crank... CONCLUSIONIf you want to try a TLR without breaking the bank, choose a simpler model like the Yashica-A. If you want a better TLR, with more options, get the Yashica Mat-124 G. And if you want the best, well, get a Rolleiflex. Or just buy them all, they're all great! PHOTO SAMPLESVERDICT:
