PERSONAL NOTES

In 2016, the Sony Mavica FD5 appears to be from the stone age. Back in 1997, it was an outstanding breakthrough. The digital age was just beginning, and memory was very expensive, so Sony had the idea of using plain floppy disks to store the images. The result was a big bulky box, that could take images and store them in memory we all had at that time.

I remember the vibrations and noises the camera made when storing a photo onto the disquette. It was so funny, but very practical.

Looking at the images now, we can laugh at the quality. Even our cell phones make way better images now.

CONCLUSION

The Sony Mavica FD5 represents a big milestone in digital photography, now, it's just a piece of junk.
