PERSONAL NOTES

Not to long ago, cell phones were not up to the task for photography. Having a point and shoot camera still made sense.

Often, people tell me "I saw this amazing thing and my camera was home... If I had my camera with me, I was sure to take the photo of the century!"

Yeah right... But still. The first tip from the Time Life Photography Encyclopedia (yes, I have read those enormous books) is "have your camera with you all the time".

So, one cannot always have a heavy DSLR at hand, but anyone can have a small point and shoot in his pocket.

The Sony Cybershot W610 was the cheapest camera available at the time I was looking for this specific need.

CONCLUSION

Ultra compact cameras still made sense a few years ago to always have something on you to take descent photos. Now, modern cell phones are pretty good for the same task.
