INTRODUCTIONThe Polaroid One Step SX-70 is an instant camera made in USA in 1972. It can be bought second hand anywhere between $5 and $100, depending condition and feelings of the owner. BEST SUITED FOR:
PERSONAL NOTESThe Polaroid One Step SX-70 is a cult camera, you may have seen its influence on some mobile phone app. When used with a flashbar, this camera becomes the ultimate party camera. Polaroid SX-70 film is discontinued, but still available through the Impossible Project. It's a 8 sheet film pack instead of 10, and it costs quite a lot for instant film. The drawback of using this instant film is, in order to get properly exposed photos, you need to put the photo in a light tight box when it comes out of the camera, for about 45 minutes. If you do not do this, the contrast and colors might be off by a lot. So long for "instant"... I still root for Instax... CONCLUSIONUsing this camera brings a lot of memories, it's fun, but not cheap. I would recommend Instax over Polaroid anytime, and I don't say this because I'm a Fuji X-Photographer, Instax is simply better in a lot of ways. PHOTO SAMPLESVERDICT:
