INTRODUCTIONThe Petri 2.8 Color Corrected Super is a 35mm film rangefinder made in Japan by Petri around 1959. BEST SUITED FOR:
PERSONAL NOTESThe Petri 2.8 is a quite nice camera. The built quality is excellent, the camera feels solid, yet it is another Leica M3 wannabe. Even if the camera is quite old, the featureset is very good. Many shutter speeds, good lens, good rangefinder, not like a Leica, but still pretty good. Focussing is fast and precise. Film counter is primitive. The camera has no strap lugs. Film rewinding can be painful. CONCLUSIONFor the price, the Petri 2.8 is an excellent rangefinder camera. It is more in the same class as the Konica IIIa. Pay a bit more to get a Canon P, or even more for a real Leica M3. PHOTO SAMPLESVERDICT:
