PERSONAL NOTESThe Pentax Me is an aperture priority SLR, much smaller than the K1000, also lighter, but retains a big finder. The focusing screen is also much better, incorporating microprism around a split screen. I like the Me, it does not include a lot of features but it has everything you need to go have fun shooting in aperture priority mode. The Pentax Me feels like Pentax did a version of the Olympus OM-1. A compact SLR with a good finder and focussing screen. CONCLUSIONThe Pentax K1000 is a classic camera. I would get a Pentax ME instead, which is a bit lighter, smaller, better, faster, ... PHOTO SAMPLESVERDICT:
