INTRODUCTIONThe Nikon F6 is a 35mm SLR camera made in Japan since 2004. In 2017, it is still being manufactured and sold to photographers worldwide. BEST SUITED FOR:
PERSONAL NOTESThe Nikon F6 is probably the best 35mm SLR camera ever made. Before buying the Nikon F6, I read some reviews on-line. They were all saying things like, yeah this is the best camera ever, or wow, this camera really rocks. But, $1000 for a used one is still expensive, when you can get a F100 for much less. Well, what the heck, I just bought one anyway, I had to try it for myself... The F6 is great, and it makes me a little sad too. I'll explain... The Nikon F6 feels solid, it's the pinnacle of 35mm SLR cameras, taking all the good features of many cameras, into this nice little package. At close to a kilogram, it's still heavy, but much less than my so loved F5. The finder is great, ergonomy is excellent, and lens compatibility is just awesome. The menu system, even on its tiny LCD screen, feels much like the menu system we know now with digital Nikons. It's much better made than the CSM (Custom Settings Menu) of the F5 or F100. The F6 even works with the remote flash CLS (Nikon Creative Lighting System), which brings full TTL remote flash groups controlled from where you are, behind the camera. On top of saving shooting info in files you can download to your PC, the F6 can also print some info of your choosing directly on the film! You can add the info on the photo or between photos, like here in red : The Nikon F6 is a -really- good camera. The first day I went shooting with it, I almost did 5 rolls with it, and it went by so fast I couln't beleive it. It's one of those cameras you regret not buying sooner. After trying more than over 250 cameras, this Nikon F6 feels like the end of the line, as it's one of the last film camera ever made, I also feel a little sad, knowing that it will probably won't get better than this. I would love the autofocus of the Nikon D5 on this F6, but there won't be a F7. CONCLUSIONThe Nikon F6 is a really great camera. If you want a mini Nikon F5, you could get a Nikon F100 for a reasonnable price, but if you want the top of the line, the best of the best, then just get the F6. PHOTO SAMPLESVERDICT:
