PERSONAL NOTESIn the 80s, I used to dream about having a F4. A few years ago I bought a used one for a few hundreed dollars. I liked it a lot, even if my modern DSLR was better on many aspects, the F4 still had some advantages. A friend of mine had a F5 and told me he liked it a lot. When I got my hand on it, I understood why. Oh my god, this machine compares to a pro DSLR. In terms of handling and built quality, its on par with a D5 I taught the F4 was compatible with all Nikon lenses. Well, yes, but no... Yes, they all fit, but the F5 adds the ability to use AF-s lenses. This means that with the Nikon F5, I can use all my magnificent modern glass on it. I am used to play with many cameras, old and new. I go almost daily in the woods and use old cameras that usually have a 50mm on it. With the F5, I can use all my modern gear, wides and tele, and I can have the confidence that the light seals wont break on me. CONCLUSIONIf you have modern Nikon lenses and you want to use them on a film body, this is the one. Just pop in a Velvia and go shoot! PHOTO SAMPLESVERDICT:
