INTRODUCTIONThe Leica R6 is a 35mm SLR camera made in Germany by Leica between 1988 and 1992. BEST SUITED FOR:
PERSONAL NOTESThe Leica R6 is probably the best Leica you can get for your money. I have to admit that the design of this camera is very nice. The finder is very bright, easy to focus. The mechanics looks and feels solid, without being too heavy. There is a spot and matrix metering system which is pretty nice. I really like this camera, I think I am going to keep it and shoot with it from time to time. Even if its quite a lot of money on a shelf, I really like the bokeh that 50/2 gives. The meter uses regular batteries, the shutter is all mechanical, so everything works without batteries, except the meter. There is no autofocus system, but focussing is easy with that nice and bright focussing screen. For someone used to Leica rangefinders, it's just a bit slower to focus, but being a SLR, you have no paralax, and you can use much longer lenses. I would recommend the Leica R6 to anyone who needs a good SLR that needs to work all the time, even if you have no electricity for months. I feel that this camera will never die. CONCLUSIONA Leica is a Leica, you get what you pay for. The Leica R6 is amazing. If you want to add the aperture priority mode, get the also amazing R7. PHOTO SAMPLESVERDICT:
