INTRODUCTIONThe Leica R3 is a 35mm SLR camera made by Leica in 1976. BEST SUITED FOR:
PERSONAL NOTESMy favourite Leica is the M3, or any of their rangefinders. The R series are SLRs, which can be a bit slower focus, but have access to much longer glass. In the R series, I like the R6, which is smaller, all mechanical, but more expensive. The R3 is probably the cheapest Leica on the market, but it's a bit big for a SLR, and there is a history of bad electronics, the one I had was ok. The Leica R3 is an ok camera, nothing more, it doesn't feel solid like a tank like other Leicas. Basically, it's just a Minolta with a Leica tag on it. CONCLUSIONThe Leica R3 is probably the cheapest Leica, and it's far from the R6 or the M3. You get exactly what you pay for. PHOTO SAMPLESVERDICT:
