INTRODUCTIONThe Kowa SE is a 35mm film SLR camera made in Japan by Kowa in 1964. BEST SUITED FOR:
PERSONAL NOTESThe Kowa SE is a good overall 35mm reflex camera. One of its advantage is that because of having a leaf shutter, it can flash sync to 1/500s. The only thing that is wrong about this cmera, if you ask me, is the feeling of the aperture ring. There is no click on the aperture ring (at least on mine) so it's not easy to know which aperture you are using. This felt so strange, to the point that I taught that maybe the camera was broken and that the aperture ring did not do anything. But one roll of film showed me that the aperture ring does work, and it works perfectly, it's just that the feedback to the user is non-existant, you can't say for sure if your aperture is really set because of the lack of aperture clicks. A part from that, the camera performs well and is cheap. CONCLUSIONThe Kowa SE is a plain 35mm camera that syncs to 1/500s. If you need this feature, you can get it, or even better : get a Hasselblad 500c/m ! PHOTO SAMPLESVERDICT:
