INTRODUCTIONThe kodak Cameo is a 35mm viewfinder camera made around 1993. BEST SUITED FOR:
PERSONAL NOTESI used a Kodak Cameo during a 4 month trip to Europe. I had no money to buy a better camera, this is all I had. Nevertheless, it did ok. This was far from perfect, but I was able to get some details from some of the negatives. This is a very limited camera, I was making photos during the day only, sometimes with the integrated flash during partys. I did about 40 rolls of 35mm during those 4 months. I waited for the C-41 processing at the pharmacy to go on sale, I was thrilled by these souvenirs. Some years later I scanned the photos, then the negatives for better quality. A year after that first trip, I went back to Europe, with my first digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix 5700, and I took about 40000 photos during the next 3 years in Europe with it. Of these 40000 photos, there are about 40 good ones, and there is only a single one I really like... Henri Cartier-Bresson said "Your 10000 first photos are your worst..." Well, with digital, we have to push this number to 50000. With digital, we learn faster, but we need more photos to learn... The Kodak Cameo was a good learning tool for me, and it made possible for me to gather some souvenirs I will look at from time to time, and for many years. CONCLUSIONI cannot recommend the Kodak Cameo to anyone. As there are so many better cameras out there... PHOTO SAMPLESVERDICT:
