INTRODUCTIONThe Exa 0 is a 35mm film SLR camera made by Ihagee in East Germany in1951. BEST SUITED FOR:
PERSONAL NOTESThe Exa 0 is the original version of a long line of cameras. They are robust, nicely made and beautiful. The one I had was equipped with a waist level finder, which is very common for these. It was my first experience with a Waist level finder on a 35mm camera. I am used to these finders on medium format cameras, but on a 35mm, I always miss the pentaprism. The design of the Exa is well made, the optics are excellent, and even if the lenses do not have automatic aperture control, the design is made so it do not need it. When you press the shutter, automatically, the aperture of thelens is changed to the value you asked for, then if you press more, the photo is taken. Oh, one more thing, the shutter is on the front of the camera, on the left side. Not many cameras are made for lefties, this is one of them. CONCLUSIONExas are really nice looking cameras, robust and have access to nice glass. It belongs in your collection. PHOTO SAMPLESVERDICT:
