INTRODUCTIONThe Graflex Century Graphic is a press camera made in USA between 1912 and 1973. It's a robust and polyvalent camera, very popular among photojournalists of the 20th century. BEST SUITED FOR:
PERSONAL NOTESThe Century Grahic is cheaper then the Crown Graphic, and it has a Graflok back, making it easy to change the back and use film rolls. I owned many Graflex cameras, a Crown Graphic, a Speed Graphic, all in 4x5 format, but I also own a Century Graphic in a smaller 2x3 size. It is fitted with a 120 film back that makes 8 6x9 cm images per roll. The fact that it can use film rolls makes it super easy to use compaired with its bigger cousins in 4x5 or even 5x7. With a rangefinder, powerful flashes, and many other accessories, Graflex press cameras helped many photographers cover news, cultural and sporting events, wars... In short, this camera covered everything that was there to cover. CONCLUSIONThe Graflex Century Graphic is cheaper and a bit more user friendly than its big cousing the Crown Graphic or Speed Graphic. It's very fun and enriching to use a press camera.
