PERSONAL NOTES

The Fuji X-H2 was the first 40 Megapixels APS-C camera ever made. It is the high end, rugged, video centric camera, compatible with the X series of lenses.

Image quality is excellent, and with the Fuji X Raw Studio, I can take advantage of the great Fuji RAW files. When you plug the camera to the computer, you can tweak you RAW files into new jpgs. The laptop CPU is not used to generate these new photos, instead, it uses the X-Processor Pro engine inside the camera.

If you prefer, you can also use the film simulation, which made Fuji cameras famous over time, as it gives a user experience close to when we were using actual film. Very fun indeed.

To keep up with its demanding performance, it uses one SD card, and one much more expensive CFexpress card.

The only detail I do not like about the camera is its shutter button. On top of not having the standard threading to attach a remote shutter, the shutter button feeling is somewhat problematic. When doing a half press, to focus, the tactile feedback is not precise, it is not clear at which moment you are actually half pressed. Only because of this, I much prefer the Fuji X-T5.

CONCLUSION

The Fuji X-H2 is Fuji's top of the line for high quality video. If you mainly do photography, I would recommend the Fuji Fuji X-T5 instead.
