INTRODUCTIONThe Fuji X100T is a compact mirrorless camera, that is very practical, stylish, and discreet. This model is the third generation, an evolution from the original X100, it has many new features and bears some modifications suggested by X-Photographers. The X100T was introduced in 2014, available in black or chrome. BEST SUITED FOR:
PERSONAL NOTESThe Fuji X100T is perfect for street photography. It's small, lightweight, and because it looks old, it has no credibility. This is what you want when making street photo, no credibility, no attention, and a stealth shutter, it makes almost no noise. It's so silent, that some photographers add a shutter noise so they know when they shoot. I used to shoot with a Leica M3 for street photo, it was my favorite camera for that type of assignation. I still love the M3, mainly because you can shoot with both eyes open, it helps to release the shutter at the perfect time, because you see what's happening out of the frame too. It helps framing and anticipating the action. The Fuji X100T is different. It's best to compose with the finder only, not with both eyes. But the shutter is even more silent than any Leica, and the film emulation is very nice. The look is close to an old rangefinder, and is fun to manipulate. The commands and dials are very well designed, aperture and shutter speed are a bliss to use, you can switch between modes very easily and its clear where you're at when looking at the camera. Of course, the X100T is not the camera to use when covering events or sports, but for photojournalism or street photo, it's so perfect, it's now my first choice. CONCLUSIONIf you are looking for a dedicated camera for street photo, do not look further, buy the X100T, you won't regret! PHOTO SAMPLESVERDICT:
